Surgery

Tomorrow I shall have surgery to remove an ovarian cyst. Thanks, PCOS. Thanks so much for yet another stupid complication.

See you on the other side. Of surgery. Not THE other side. I don't plan on checking out just yet!

Hi mutha
Stumbled across your blog. I had surgery in July - turned out to be ovarian cancer.
PLEASE make sure that a gynecological oncologist is present during your surgery. If it turns out to be ovarian cancer (I do hope NOT!), they are the best equipped to ensure proper removal, debulking, and can recognize spread more readily. It may prevent additional surgeries too. Insurance will pay for it.
Did you have a CA125 blood test? It is not diagnostic for ovarian cancer, but can provide a good tracking mechanism for it (and if its high - it may be a red flag...)
Good luck!

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes!

N- I did have that blood test before the cyst turned ugly. It was low. A few weeks later, another scan revealed the cyst had changed but I did not have another blood test. I'm only a few weeks out from when it changed, so hopefully all is well.

It doesn't mean I'm not petrified with worry!

I hope you are healing from your ovarian Cancer and I wish you the best as well!

Just to let you know that I'll be thinking of you, wishing you health and good news and a speedy recovery! I too have cysts, and fibroids, and other stuff. Also had a little breast cancer scare last week, which thankfully turned out benign. So I understand, the feelings and the fear and all. Think positive, most of these alerts are benign! And make sure you get some help for those first days home, as all your gorgeous and charming children will for sure have missed you! :o)

Mutha- I also wanted to tell you that I took some time this morning to go through all the 12 month size hand me downs and clothes that we have bought. The containers were labeled, but I had no idea what was in them and Nadia should be able to start wearing them sometime this winter.

So your second hand store show inspired me! And soon I will got through the 18 and 24 months and do the same. The OCD in me even typed the list out by catagory to keep in my diaper bag.

Hugs from Texas! - Louanne
